    Course Accreditation: our courses are accredited through the NMDPS Law Enforcement Training Center for field, communications, and administrative personnel.

    Other states may have reciprical agreements with the NMDPS Training Center for accredited courses. These states may accept NMDPS Accredited courses for in-service or advanced level training hours. Check with your individual State Training or POST department.

  • Career Police Officers is a site to assist law enforcement by Barry M. Baker, a police officer's career can end before it gets started . . . Too many new police officers listen to bad advice, and they develop bad working habits. Those bad habits can result in career ending consequences, sooner than later, for a new police officer.

Since every real life experience can go in any direction, scenarios are limited in their ability to prepare you for the real deal.

    Enter the Field Training Officer -- more commonly referred to as the FTO.  Police departments across the country are creating their own FTO programs to train their new police officers either during their academy classroom training or post classroom training.
