We are very excited to announce that NAFTO is now providing FTO training throughout the year. For over 20 years NAFTO has been promoting and training field training officers through its publications, websites, and annual training conferences. Now NAFTO can provide that quality training year round.
If you are looking for quality, professional training for your field training officers NAFTO can provide that training. Through the co-hosting concept we can provide the training for your agency or area. Here is how it works;
Contact NAFTO about co-hosting a Basic Field Training Officers Class. The Co-Hosting agency will be responsible for the training venue, equipment needs, and local advertising. The minimum class size is 20 paid students. The co-hosting agency will receive 2 free spots in the class for 20 paid students. They will receive 4 free spots in the class for 30 paid students.
NAFTO will provide the instructor and take care of the instructor fees, and travel expenses.
The Basic Field Training Officers Class is a 3 day class and costs $350 per student. Registration for the class will be handled through NAFTO.
Basic FTO Class: This 3 day course will provide the new FTO with all of the skills and abilities to professionally train and evaluate a new recruit. Teaching Methodology, Adult Learning Theory, Officer Safety, Proper Evaluation, and Additional Training are a few of the topics covered in this class. The cost for this class is $350 per person.
Managing the FTO Unit: This 3 day course will provide the FTO Manager or Coordinator with the skills necessary to properly and professionally manage a field training unit. Leadership, Ethics, Additional Training, Functional Termination, and Evaluations are covered in this training. This course currently focuses on the San Jose Field Training Model. The cost for this class is $350 per person with a 20 person minimum requirement. The same co-hosting responsibilities and benefits as described above apply.
